| Mark Spencer - Sherwood Gets Young |

Visit by Sir George Young, Shadow Leader of The House of Commons to Sherwood
The high accident rate on the A614 was discussed and Mark said he would support any action to make the road safe. Sir George was impressed by the day and evening elderly persons centre on The Green, especially because so much effort was being put in by Fran Cooper and other volunteers to provide a good caring environment. By Contrast the stop at Cromwell Road Playing Fields showed the equipment and surface of the children’s play area had been vandalised before it had been opened. Mark Spencer said this was of great concern, and if elected to Parliament he would take a keen interest in working with the residents to prevent this kind of behaviour. The final stop was at the Fishing Lakes on the old Bilsthorpe Colliery site, where Mark and Sir George had a long chat with Kenny Zarebski the volunteer Chairman of the Fishing Club that was managed by volunteers. Mark said the Fishing Facility was a great asset to the village and it was something he would whole heartedly support. |

Mark Spencer the Conservative Candidate for Sherwood invited Sir George Young to visit Bilsthorpe. The first call was to The Limes transport café on the A614 where he was met by Mark, several supporters including Newark & Sherwood Councillors Tony Roberts (leader) David Payne (Portfolio holder for Housing) Robert Bradbury (Councillor for Bilsthorpe) and other supporters of Mark.
