County Council Social Care

This week Mark met David Pearson, Head of Adult Social Care at Nottinghamshire County Council. I wanted to meet him because there are some changes currently being made to the social care system at County level. I wanted to see for myself that the Council is working to secure better delivery of social care for people in their old age. I was also pleased to see that a number of measures are also being taken to ensure that people are able to stay at home, rather than in hospital. People recover better at home and we should make that more possible – while of course ensuring that the support and resources are available for those people who do need hospital care.
