Great employment news in Sherwood

The unemployment rate has dropped to an 11-year low of just 4.8 per cent – down by more than 900,000 since 2010 – according to the latest set of labour market figures out today.

Here in Sherwood too unemployment continues to fall, with now less than 900 individuals in the constituency claiming any unemployment benefits, down by 123 in the last 12 months - that means since October 2015 123 more people have the security of a regular wage and the ability to support themselves.

Growth is being fuelled by full-time professional jobs while wages are continuing to perform strongly. The measures we have taken have put our economy in a position of strength, and we will work to ensure more people can benefit from these opportunities as we build a country that works for everyone.
