On Thursday we returned Mark Spencer as our MP, with an increased majority of 4647. We'd like to thank everyone who helped, supported or voted for Mark - nobody deserves it more!

Local Council victories in Sherwood

We've had a great deal of success in local elections on May 7th, with 9 new District Councillors elected and all of our sitting Councillors returned across our 3 Councils.

Home Secretary supports our Calverton Speedwatch

We were visited by Theresa May this morning in Calverton! The Community Speed Watch Team were out in force so we decided to stop for a chat! We met local PCSO Kirsty Szeluk and PC Kylie Westlake to discuss the community Speed Watch Scheme and see the new police car and equipment.

The Dissolution of Parliament

On Monday March 30th Parliament will be 'dissolved' and the official election Campaign period will begin. That means that Mark Spencer MP will officially no longer be the MP from that date, until the elections on May 7th. His office will continue to function with a limited remit during that period and can be contacted on 0115 968 1186.

Labour vote to close our local Care Homes

The Labour-lead Council have passed their budget that will close all of our local care facilities, forcing elderly and vulnerable people to fend for themselves. The Conservatives and local campaigners protested outside County Hall (pictured).
